So, when does your new collection come out so I get to review it?<br /><br />Shawna&#39;s book was a very weird thing for me. My short story collection is based on the same place, though I take even more liberties with the town. The elder figure in my stories runs the gambling house and there is the whole oddity of the surname. <br />When Penguin picked up her novel for a second printing, they apparently wanted the title changed to Water Ghosts. At that time, my collection was Paper Ghosts. I had to frantically find a new title :}.<br /><br />I did meet Shawna Yang Ryan at one of her book signings and told her the story of my parallel project. I found her very gracious and she&#39;s clearly very talented.
